Local pecalang, or village security officers, will be strategically placed along the beach, in parking areas, and throughout the surrounding zones. Their main goal? Wayan Karnawa, Head of Melasti Beach Management, stated, “To welcome the high season, we will add Pecalang, especially to manage traffic flow in the coastal area.” Having traveled on those narrow, winding roads myself, I can vouch for the need for organized traffic management, especially when crowds gather.

Interestingly, Melasti Beach draws a crowd primarily of domestic tourists, with approximately a 70:30 distribution between local and international visitors. This local appeal is truly remarkable. Karnawa predicts an increase in tourist visits by around 10-20 percent compared to last year, aiming for approximately 3,000 daily visitors. If you’re planning to visit Melasti Beach during this peak period, here are some practical tips:

  • Book your accommodations early: Many hotels, villas, and resorts fill up quickly during the festive season, so make sure to secure your spot.
  • Plan your transport: As road conditions can get tricky, especially when buses and cars crowd the narrow paths, consider using taxis or rideshare services.
  • Purchase an eVisa: Arrange your eVisa on Arrival at least two weeks before departure. This will allow you to skip long queues at the airport.

Your hassle-free experience begins with preparation! A new eVisa platform will launch in early December 2024, which will streamline the arrival process even further.
